Government sued - Keith Clarke's family files $18m lawsuit against State

The family of businessman Keith Clarke, who was fatally shot when members of the security forces went in search of then fugitive Christopher 'Dudus' Coke, has filed a lawsuit against the Government. The suit was filed yesterday by Clarke's widow, Claudette, and their daughter Britanni Clarke.

CXC wrong to fire Phillip, IDT rules

The Industrial Disputes Tribunal (IDT) has ruled that the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) was wrong when it fired assistant registrar Gerard Phillip just under a year ago.

PetroCaribe, ALBA merge in new economic zone

As announced earlier this month by Energy Minister Phillip Paulwell, the latest regional PetroCaribe meeting, which he attended in Caracas, brought some reassuring news for Jamaicans. Agreements struck at that meeting not only continued, but actually expanded, oil-rich Venezuela's PetroCaribe arrangements with participating countries in the Caribbean.
