Man extradited to US for sexual offences

A 41-year-old Jamaican man was extradited today to the United States to face sexual offence charges.

He is Homer Bishop, a technician of a Margarete Villa Road, Kingston 10 address.

The Police say he is wanted in the state of New Jersey for Aggravated Sexual Assault and Having Sexual Intercourse with a Minor Younger than 13 years old.

Detectives from the Counter Terrorism and Organized Crime Investigation Branch’s Fugitive Apprehension Team reportedly arrested Bishop on an extradition warrant on January 13.

On Thursday, January 15, Bishop appeared in the Half-Way Tree Resident Magistrate’s Court where he was ordered extradited, after waiving his right to an extradition hearing.

The police say he was escorted off the island to the United States of America this morning where he will answer to the charges.
