FOOTBALL: Goalkeeper Andre Blake out for four to six weeks
Philadelphia Union and Jamaica goalkeeper Andre Blake is expected to be sidelined for four to six weeks after undergoing knee surgery.
The Major League Soccer club says the 24-year-old custodian is recovering from a successful partial meniscectomy on his left knee.
Blake played in one league match last year, making seven saves in a 2-0 loss to the Houston Dynamo.
Blake has appeared for the Reggae Boyz nine times, since making his debut in a 2-0 triumph over Barbados in March of last year.
More recently, Blake played a vital role for the Jamaicans as they won the 2014 Caribbean Cup championship.
In the final, he made a key save, denying Trinidad & Tobago's Kenwyne Jones in the penalty-kick shootout.
Jamaica prevailed, 4-3 on penalties, after the teams played to a scoreless draw.
