The penmanship was good when US President Barack Obama signed the official guest book at Jamaica House today.

But the American President got the date wrong.

Underneath his signature, the president wrote: "10 April 2015" instead of 9 April 2015.

He then went into bilatateral talks with the Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller before returning for a press briefing saying he was deeply appreciative for the Jamaican hospitality.

"Michelle wishes she was on this trip. We will have to return with the girls one day," he said.

Obama was also elated about his unannounced trip to the Bob Marley Museum in St Andrew last night.

"The quick trip to Bob Marley museum last night was one of the most fun trips," he said noting that he has been a Marley fan since school days.

WHAT OBAMA WROTE:

"It is a great pleasure to visit Jamaica, known for its beauty and the extraordinary spirit of its people. May the deep and abiding friendship between our nations continue for generations to come.

10 April 2015"
