Transport and Works Minister Dr Omar Davies has hit out at the Member of Parliament-elect for Clarendon Central Mike Henry for his remarks about the preservation of documents at the ministry.

In a statement today, Henry called for the ministry’s Permanent Secretary to protect all records and ensure they are properly preserved.

Henry said given the shock defeat of the outgoing administration, there may be temptations to destroy records ahead of the takeover of the ministry by the new portfolio minister.

He said he was issuing the advisory based on his experience when the JLP was elected to power in 2007.

In a statement this afternoon the current transport minister took issue with Henry’s remarks.

Dr Davies says he finds his comments to be rude and offensive.
