Ratko Mladic convicted of genocide and crimes against humanity

Alic, a Bosnian man who became a figurehead for the suffering of Bosnians during the war when he was photographed as an emaciated prisoner behind the wire of a Bosnian Serb prison camp, was among those who watched the hearing. A UN court has convicted former Bosnian Serb military chief Gen Ratko Mladic of genocide and crimes against humanity and sentenced him to life in prison for atrocities perpetrated during Bosnia’s 1992-1995 war.
