Ouch! That really hurts!

Yes, the truth will do that to you. What truth? The truth you feel when your supervisor or boss says something that hits you at your core. You go home and you say to yourself 'why am I still doing this?'
The truth you feel when you go to church and the sermon was meant for you that day. The same day you were so tired to wake up out of bed and just couldn't bother to attend. The truth you feel when your spouse or significant other returns a sharp comment in the heat of an argument that makes you think and replay the situation over and over again in your head. The truth you feel when you realise that we are in October already and all the things you said you would have done from January haven't started yet!
Yes, there are many truths but if you followed the trend of those truths, it is not something you say, it is something you feel. We all know the truth when we hear it, see it, and most of all feel it within our soul that it resonates so much you even lose sleep over it.
Is that happening to you right now? Well, it happens to me. What do I do about it? I accept it for what it is without any excuses and decide to start again. It may not always be from scratch, but the main thing is that I take action from then on and be consistent with those actions. We are not perfect, but we can strive to be. We will fall along the wayside, feel tired, forget our 'why' and just 'can't bother' at times, but one thing we must always remember is TO NEVER GIVE UP!
A friend of mine recently came back from seeing the Leaning Tower of Pisa in Italy. What a magnificent place to behold, he said, but you would never know because leading up to get there, the place was unkempt and broken down. You would never think that right around that corner would lay such magnificence! In speaking with him, I likened his experience with life and the choices we make. You never know that extra inch, yard or effort that you need to take that just around the corner would lay success, your goals achieved and your magnificence to behold.
Most of us never see that because we are not willing to put out that extra, make that bold step or see the vision. Most of us, upon seeing how the place was, would have stopped and not bothered, thinking that there can't be anything good around the corner, so why go? Others filled with curiosity and with an aptitude for risk, will venture forward for their thinking is 'what do they have to lose?" If there is more junk around the corner, so what? But what if there isn't?
We are the sand in the hourglass of time. We are slipping through this tiny hole and we have no control over it. Yes, it is October and we have three months left to finish off the year with a renewed way of thinking, a change in mindset, a change in attitude, an openness to new opportunities, a belief and acceptance that our truth is yet to come and manifest itself only if we take action now or even do something differently today.
Start exposing yourself to positivism in your life, and that includes the people you surround yourself with. Start consuming, or like I do, devouring inspirational and motivational books from the likes of Norman Vincent Peale, Dale Carnegie, Jim Rohn, Jack Canfield, Zig Ziglar, Les Brown, Anthony Robbins, and I can go on and on ... you know them and if you don't, take action and find them. There are lots of audio clippings on YouTube so saying you can't afford to buy the books should be DELETED from your vocabulary!

You see, no matter where we come from, where we were born, who our parents are, the upbringing we had or the education or skills we harnessed over the years: it doesn't matter! We all share a common need - the need to be who we were meant to be, the purpose we were meant to carry out and the impact we would like to leave when we depart this awesome life we have as a gift.
Hope to see you at the online summit!
