Texaco awards $1m to Back to School promotion winners

Texaco recently awarded 12 winners a total of $1.2 million from their just concluded Back to School Brawta promotion. Each individual collected $100,000, and schools of their choice received grants of $100,000 each.

The winners were Omar Davis, Cleon Bedward, Lawrence Allen, Troy Howell, Leslie Moore, and Shang Lewis, and their selected schools were: Alpha Infant School, Kingston; Enfield Primary and Junior High School, St Mary; Ewarton High School, St Catherine; Hampton High School, St Elizabeth; Kilsyth Primary and Infant School, Clarendon and Rusea's High School, Hanover.

The promotion ran from September 1 to October 27, 2017, where customers completed an entry coupon with the minimum purchase of J$3,500 in fuel.

For each additional J$3,500 spent, customers received an extra entry coupon.

"The promotion not only provided a little extra for parents after the spend on back-to-school supplies, but it also provided an excellent opportunity for the schools to obtain well-needed funds for their respective activities," said George Simpson, retail manager at Texaco.

The principals at the selected schools expressed their appreciation for the grants awarded.
