Bleeding Ink

The paper is saturated by the ink from my pen.

It bleeds for the rainbow of thoughts that were left unsaid.

It bleeds for the untold stories.

It bleeds black and blue.

It bleeds for those who don't think they have a voice.

It bleeds for those who never felt good enough.

It bleeds for those who never truly find themselves.

It bleeds red.

It bleeds for the society who continues to condemn, judge and ridicule persons who are deemed 'different'.

It bleeds for those who continue to suffer in silence.

It bleeds for all the lives lost.

It bleeds.

The Promise

This temple ain't no needle casing

But a priceless art of His making,

A masterpiece that resists duplicating,

And so it is, this beauty of His making,

That gives my soul a form for the knowing.

And all He asked for the taking, is a promise of caretaking.

To care and cherish for it not to perish,

It's not a burden; nay, a duty to relish.

And the sole request from that Sculptor,

Still another gift of precious pearl He offered

'Cause this temple it preserves and the holder it serves;

'Cause the promise made and kept, will the life save and free.

Oh yes! My Lord, my Love, my Life,

My grateful heart shouts its resolve

To tear the terrible toxins that tarnish

From this beauty that's my body;

And drugs, and dread, and dreams lost

Are occupants evicted in this rehab undertaking.

The Hardest Thing To Tell Her

"I love you" is the hardest thing to say to the miss I secretly adore.

Every time I see her, I tell her the nicest things I can imagine

And hope that she will read between the lines somehow.

Sometimes I lavish her with complimentary lines and quotations,

But there is no other way to say "I love you," except "I love you."

Why can I not tell her "I love you" in her presence?

I say it many times when I am alone and she is in my thoughts.

"I love you" is the hardest thing to tell her.

Even if I converse with her from morning until evening,

I would not dare speak when it is time to tell her "I love you."

I could reveal my love for her by acting out the meaning of the words,

But I am so afraid to show her what is in my heart.

The words "I love you" are not easy to say to the woman I love.

I must hide the love for her that is growing inside me,

For I could not bear to hear her say she is not in love with me.

"I love you" is the hardest thing to tell her.
