Stuff the car owner's stocking for the Christmas season
Chad Bryan, Staff Reporter
With a couple days remaining for Christmas shopping, it is not too late to get something for the car enthusiast who is close to you.
Many women tend to travel around with their dogs, which generally seem content to roll with their owners. For the pet-loving driver, a dog or cat console car seat would make a perfect gift to satisfy the urge for canine or feline companionship. It will keep the animals safe and comfortable while preventing them from jumping about the cabin of the vehicle while it is in motion.
The pet holders are available in a variety of colours to match a particular car interior.
No motor vehicle is complete without a road kit. For the driver, male or female, who is truly prepared for the road, a fully equipped kit makes a great Christmas gift. A kit with nothing more than Band-aids and a bottle of water is woefully lacking. One that contains jumper cables, a mini-air compressor, heavy-duty gloves, flashlight and zip-ties is a step in the right direction, some kits even coming with a raincoat and illuminated warning signs.
Male car enthusiasts, in particular, will get a thrill from receiving a car racing video game as a gift this Christmas. And there are plenty of them. A Gran Turismo or Forza Motorsport 5 for Xbox One will certainly captivate. The latter game has earned strong positive reviews and boasts perhaps the best artificial intelligence system in any racing game. With choices of 14 tracks and 200 cars from 50 manufacturers, it should keep the car enthusiast glued to the screen this festive season.
Those who are not too much for video games will better enjoy a hands-free Bluetooth car kit. A good device should allow the driver to use their cell phone without actually having to pick up your handset.
Men and women alike will certainly appreciate a gift certificate for emergency roadside assistance. A number of these services include minor repairs on the road in case of emergency, as well as a supply of fuel in case the vehicle runs out, plus oil and coolant, if necessary.
