Even with the postponement of Supligen Drag Challenge 4, petrol heads and other dedicated fans of Vernamfield are salivating at the prospect of a big matchup for the fastest car in Jamaica.

The TOP 1 Oil-sponsored Drag Car 'The Beast' will make its Jamaican debut at the next meet. The sick-looking drag car was built by the Rosado Racing Team from West Palm Beach, Florida, USA.

It is a 1982 old school Toyota with a Pro Mod Tube Frame chassis. In the belly of The Beast is a 3SGTE - a four cylinder motor. That is the same 2-litre engine normally found in the Toyota Caldina or the Altezza. It is fueled by M5 methanol that makes it crank out over 1,300 horsepower to the ground. The car has gone its best time over the 1/4 mile at 6.94 seconds at a blinding 196 mph. The driver will be Alex Dieguez from the Rosado Racing Team.

CAN'T WAIT TO GET ON TRACK

The mean machine is being hosted in Jamaica by LueBoyz Racing, who say they can't wait to get the car on the Vernamfield track, where they are hoping for a 7.90 - 8.10 seconds pass over the quarter mile.

The car will be supported at the Vernamfield Drag Strip by the Rosado Racing Team, who will be flying into the island from Florida to dial the car in. Preferred motor oil and lubricant specialists TOP 1 Oil will be partnering with LueBoyz Racing to host a special event to welcome the Rosado Racing Team and unveil the car with newly detailed TOP 1 Oil branding.

The Beast is expected to go head-to-head with the class standards Dean Shaw and NDRC national record holder Adrian McLymont.
