Top 5 Highly Anticipated cars of 2017
Land Rover Defender
The Land Rover Defender has remained relatively unchanged since its introduction in 1948. The outgoing model has not been able to meet driver and pedestrian safety regulations worldwide, prompting a complete redesign of Land Rover's most iconic vehicle. Expected to hit dealers' showrooms in late 2017, everyone is hoping that some of the vehicle's rugged and utilitarian qualities will be present in the new Defender.
BMW lovers have agreed that the last impressive M5 was the 'E39' model. Subsequent models have not been able to live up to the performance and handling of the E39 M5. Scheduled to arrive in the middle of 2017, we are hoping that the G30 model will reposition the M5, as the athletic, fun to drive executive sedan.
Land Rover Discovery
The second anticipated Land Rover product on our countdown. The 2017 Discovery5 marks a dramatic departure from the two-box design. Using aluminium architecture, the D5 was able to shed 480KG in weight. While retaining the stepped roof line and massive front grill that the Discovery is known for, this model proves it is ready to tackle any terrain.
Mercedes-Benz 'C' Class Coupe
The 'C' Class Coupe for 2017 has matured well. Drawing on the current Mercedes-Benz design language, the front fascia is traditional, with a roadster-type profile. The side profile of the coupe provides a long overhang and a short rear end, giving the coupe an aggressive yet handsome appearance. The Mercedes-Benz 'C' Class Coupe should be available locally in early 2017.
Honda Civic Type R
A totally redesigned Honda Civic was revealed in the middle of 2016. The new Civic is more refined and has a larger footprint as it shares platform with its bigger brother, the Accord. This new Civic Type R should help to resurrect the brand's performance division, giving enthusiasts a new project car.
