ATL Automotive ‘Drives Away Hunger’ with its first Children’s feeding programme.
In an effort to have a positive impact on children's lives, automotive dealer ATL Automotive has launched the "Drive Away Hunger" initiative, which will see a portion of funds from cars sold going towards a feeding programme for children in need. The first beneficiary of the initiative will be the Mulvina White Early Childhood Institution, which schools 67 children on a daily basis.
Adam Stewart, CEO, ATL Automotive, spoke about Drive Away Hunger and said: "Since our company's inception, philanthropy and giving back has always been at the forefront of our operations. It's why we do what we do so we can help to make Jamaica a better country to live. Now, our customers can feel good knowing when they're purchasing a car from ATL Automotive, whether pre-owned or new, they're helping to give our children a warm meal in the morning and contributing to the future of our country's advancement. This idea originated in one of our brainstorming sessions on how we can give back, and we all unanimously agreed without a doubt that this can be done and it must be done. This is only the beginning".
Principal of Mulvina White, Jinnete Cameron-Ennis could hardly contain her happiness when she exclaimed "We're elated that ATL Automotive has selected us to be the beneficiary for Drive Away Hunger. To be honest, it's been hard for us to maintain our meal programme because we could only feed a handful of children every day, but with this initiative we can go a far way in making sure every one of our children can have a warm meal before they start school."
This initiative is the first of its kind done by the automotive company and they are committed to successfully supporting the cause on a long term basis. Monthly donations made to the school will assist with the meal plans for the children.
