Movements - Dehring joins Carib Cement board

Christopher Dehring has joined the board of Caribbean Cement Company Limited, filling one of three seats vacated in August.

Dehring's appointment to the Jamaican company's board took effect on September 2, two weeks after the resignation of Chairman Brian Young, Dr Judith Robinson and Dr Rollin Bertrand.

It follows his election to the board of parent company, Trinidad Cement Limited, in mid-August.

Dehring is a former investment banker and is currently chairman of LIME Jamaica and a LIME executive in charge of government and regulatory affairs.

New CPJ finance director

Caribbean Producers Jamaica Limited (CPJ) has appointed Kesha-Ann Harper as director of finance, effective September 1.

Harper will oversee the CPJ's finance division and report to Chief Financial Officer Jan Polack.

She was educated at the University of the West Indies and has previously worked with the Port Authority of Jamaica, Westmoreland Co-operative Credit Union Limited and Digicel Jamaica, among other firms.

Green is WBO president

Lorna Green has taken over as president of Women Business Owners Limited (WBO) for a two-year term, from August 2014 to July 2016.

Green, a 20-year veteran and entrepreneur in the communications sector, is the producer of the RedBk phone directory. She is the CEO of Digital Transtec Limited and was most recently named chairman of GSW Animation Limited.

Green is also a commissioner of the Jamaica Racing Commission; chairman of the Consumer Affairs Commission, and she will join the executive of the PSOJ Council as the WBO's representative.
