Gleaner coffee morning tomorrow
Care to have a cup of coffee with your Gleaner? As a part of The Gleaner's 180th anniversary celebrations, a total of 180 Gleaner print subscribers received a Gleaner coffee mug between September 25 and 28. Additionally, on International Coffee Day, on Monday, September 29, residential print subscribers will each receive a sachet of Jablum coffee with their Gleaner.
Most Jamaicans can relate to sipping a cup of coffee while reading The Gleaner. According to the circulation manager at The Gleaner, Burchell Gibson, the initiative is to show The Gleaner's appreciation to its dedicated subscribers in this the company's 180th year of operation. "Subscribers have been a part of The Gleaner's story since 1834, paying 10 shillings per quarter at that time for their subscription to The Gleaner and Weekly Compendium of News, and they continue to be very important to us," he said.
Manager of business development and marketing at The Gleaner Company, Nordia Craig, noted, "International Coffee Day is a great opportunity for us to collaborate with Jablum, another indigenous Jamaican company that is associated with a favourite Jamaican pastime - drinking coffee. General manager, roasting division at the Mavis Bank Coffee Factory, Howard Findlator, thought it was a great idea: "Coffee Morning is a part of (The) Gleaner's 180th anniversary; the longest standing and most credible newspaper in Jamaica collaborating with The Mavis Bank Coffee Factory, which is the oldest and largest coffee company in Jamaica."
With these two giants collaborating, your morning will never be the same. The Gleaner and a cup of coffee - the right way to start your day on September 29. Enjoy!
