Mair lands senior VP banking job
Craig Mair has replaced Norm Stevenson as senior vice-president for corporate and commercial banking at Scotiabank Jamaica, effective November 1.
Mair has worked with Scotiabank since 2006, starting out as senior relationship officer. He previously worked with Citibank Jamaica.
His new promotion at Scotiabank follows a six-month rotation at the parent company in Toronto, Canada, where he worked in global risk management and international corporate and commercial banking. He is a graduate of University of Miami where he studied management, and has an MBA from the Florida International University.
Second term for Julian
Julian Mair was re-elected unanimously on Tuesday to serve a second term as president of the Jamaica Securities Dealers Association (JSDA).
Mair is also the group chief investment strategist at JMMB.
The new JSDA executives include first vice-president Gary Peart, treasurer Steven Gooden, secretary Charles Ross - all of whom were re-elected; and newly elected second vice-president Claudette Crooks of Money Masters Limited.
The JSDA is made of 23 member institutions.
Sharon Gibson is now running JMMB Group's remittance arm, Reggae Money Express.
Gibson, who has a 15-year track record in finance, worked with National Commercial Bank Jamaica before joining JMMB.
She holds an executive master's of business administration from the University of the West Indies.
Sheron Gilzean, who has 25 years experience in insurance, is now the general manager for JMMB Insurance Brokers Limited. Prior to this posting, Gilzean ran Covenant Insurance Brokers for five years.
She was educated at UWI at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels and is a Fellow Chartered Insurance Professional with the Insurance Institute of Canada.
Keisha Forbes was promoted November 1 to the position of head of investment services at JMMB Limited. She previously held the job as head of trading and treasury. She has worked with JMMB for 17 years, starting out in 1997 as a trading assistant.
Forbes was educated at UWI and Nova Southeastern University.
