A media company run by a bunch of 20-somethings, called eMedia Interactive Limited, is looking to redefine the way Jamaicans approach advertising and media content.

"We are determined to drive costs out of the creative industry ... we believe local companies are paying too much and getting too little," said president and CEO, Tyrone Wilson, at the launch of the company's digital creative agency, Branded by eMedia in Kingston on Tuesday.

The partners say that they are offering a one-stop service with a range of video options in addition to an app service.

Since January 2012, the fledgling company has been drafting in talent and seeking guidance.

The company is chaired by Richard Byles, the head of Sagicor Group Jamaica.

"I am recommending to you all that this is a good company to work with both from the point of view of its creativity - it's run by young people, it's populated by young people; they have all of the creative ideas - but also because it is a solid company and it is governed by solid principles," Byles said at the launch.

Branded is asserting that it is in the media marketplace to be "innovative creative and disruptive," he said.

eMedia's services include ezines, digital catalogues and social media marketing, as well as talent search. Its clients include Stocks and Securities Limited, Sagicor, Scotia Investments, Stewart's Automotive Group and Rain-forest Seafood.
