Megan Deane ... has warapped up a three-year assignment as CEO of Creditinfo Jamaica.

Megan Deane said Tuesday that her job as chief executive officer of Creditinfo Jamaica Limited came to an end in March and that she would be transitioning to a new assignment in the region.

Creditinfo Jamaica was the first company to receive its operating licence in March 2012 and is now one of three credit bureaus approved to date by the Bank of Jamaica.

The company is a joint venture between local partner Coalesce Credit Solutions Limited and Creditinfo Group, based in Northern Ireland.

Deane was named as its first CEO in December 2011. She has been replaced by Craig Stephen, effective April 1. Stephen was formerly the chief operating officer at the Kingston-based credit bureau.

"I was always on contract with Creditinfo to set up the company, establish it, and position it for growth. It was initially a two-year contract, which I extended for another 15 months because of the slower-than-expected implementation of the industry," said Deane.

"I will be transitioning to other work, including for Creditinfo Group in the region, and remain a director of Creditinfo Guyana," she said.

Deane is also a former deputy managing director of the National Export Import Bank of Jamaica, where she worked from 2006 to 2009.
