Holness elected Jamaica Bankers Association president
Nigel Holness has been elected as the new president
of the Jamaica Bankers Association (JBA), replacing Maureen Hayden-Cater, who stepped down from the post after departing her job as president of First Global Bank.
Holness is managing director of FirstCaribbean International Bank Jamaica, the fourth largest of six commercial banks. He was formerly vice-president of the JBA.
Along with the new president, Jacqueline Sharp, president and chief executive officer of the Scotia Group Jamaica, was elected vice-president, while Jerome Smalling, the CEO of JMMB Merchant Bank, is the new treasurer, the association said in a release on Thursday.
Pamela Smith, general manager of MF&G Trust and Finance Limited, remains secretary of the association.
