Jan 26: JSE gains 175 points

The Jamaica Stock Exchange Combined Index advanced by 175.31 points, or 0.10 per cent, to close at 170,513.05 on Tuesday.

Market volume amounted to 4.1 million units valued at over $53.48 million. Jamaica Broilers Group was the volume leader with 561,626 units (13.67 per cent) followed by Scotia Group Jamaica Limited with 460,994 units (11.22 per cent) and Lasco Financial Services Limited with 291,225 units (7.09 per cent) .

Overall Market activity resulted from trading in 43 stocks of which 20 advanced, 18 declined and 5 traded firm. Stocks which posted gains included AMG Packaging, Caribbean Cream, Honey Bun, tTech and others. Losers included Carreras, GraceKennedy, Scotia Group and Scotia Investments and others.

The combined index is comprised of the main and junior markets. The JSE Main Index advanced by 147.39 points ( 0.09 per cent) to close at 159,472.83.
The JSE All Jamaican Composite Index advanced by 164.72 points ( 0.09 per cent) to close at 177,176.18.
The JSE Select Index advanced by 4.94 points ( 0.09 per cent) to close at 5,519.03.
The JSE Cross Listed Index closed at 499.06
The Junior Market Index advanced by 4.02 points ( 0.18 per cent) to close at 2,230.10.
The JSE USD Equities Index advanced by 0.04 points ( 0.03 per cent) to close at 156.49.
