Epping’s Neville Marsh is new head of petroleum marketers association
Managing Director of Epping Oil Company Neville Marsh was elected president of the Jamaica Association of Petroleum Marketers (JAPM) at a special council meeting on October 20, the group said in a statement.
Managing director of Rubis Energy Jamaica Alain Carreau was elected vice-president.
Epping is a Jamaican company founded by Marsh, while Carreau works for a French-owned company.
Marsh said in the statement that JAPM was finalising emergency-response guidelines for the sector in conjunction with industry players and the Government.
"The document will be comprehensive and will address all areas of first response, procedures and emergency management for petroleum-related emergencies and disasters," he said.
The last accident less than two weeks ago killed three people in Kingston, but that was at an illegal cooking gas filling station operated from a neighbourhood off Mountain View Avenue.
Others on the JAPM board include Treasurer Carlyle Anderson, supply and distribution manager for Trinidadian-owned Massy Gas Products Jamaica; and Carmen Chen as secretary/manager for the association.
JAPM's membership comprises Epping, Texaco operators Gulfstream Petroleum SRL; IGL Limited, Massy Gas Products Jamaica, Petroleum Company of Jamaica, RUBiS Energy Jamaica, Total Jamaica, and United Petroleum Jamaica.
