Kiss Cakes pastry once an import from Trinidad to be made in Jamaica
Kiss Cakes are back and will be distributed to local retail outlets by the Jamaica Biscuit Company.
The Excelsior Crackers producer made the announcement yesterday via its Facebook page, to the delight of many Jamaicans who grew up eating the cream-filled treats.
The cakes were originally manufactured in Trinidad and imported into Jamaica, but the Biscuit Company said they will now be made locally.
Kiss Baking Company, a member of the Bermudez Biscuit Company, began manufacturing the treats in 1972 with two flavours – orange and chocolate cupcakes.
The treats have been off local shelves for well over 10 years.
