JN Bank now operational
Jamaica National formally launched its commercial bank this morning, completing its eight year-long transition.
JN Bank has become the seventh commercial bank locally with 34 locations comprising 25 branches and nine JN Money Shops.
The bank is ranked third, with assets of $180 billion and savings of $101 billion.
The bank currently serves members in 50 countries, managing director, Maureen Hayden-Cater told participants at the opening ceremony at Constant Spring Road, St. Andrew.
Hayden-Cater will oversee the day-to-day operations of the bank, while former general manager, Earl Jarrett will now head the financial group.
JN Bank is a subsidiary of the Jamaica National Group under the new financial structure.
To mark its opening, the bank has offered wavers of select in-branch fees and has removed processing fees on its JN auto and unsecured loans, among others.
