A binary option scheme attributed to businessman Michael Lee-Chin contains false and misleading information and is not endorsed by the businessman, NCB Financial Group said in a release issued on its behalf.

It said that over the last few days, unauthorized persons have been using the name and image of Lee-Chin, who is chairman of NCB Financial Group, in an advertisement promoting how people can become rich by working from home using binary options.

The advertisement, served by AdChoice, prominently features several photos of Lee-Chin and appears in advertisement slots in different sizes on local websites with variations of the text "Generous Philanthropist ... wealthiest Jamaican shares ground breaking opportunity with all of Jamaica," the release said.

The images that were being used in the advertisement were unauthorized and the information being presented to viewers contains false and misleading information, it said.

The release added that in no way does Lee-Chin endorse or promote such get rich working from home using binary options schemes.

"I am appalled by this unauthorized and illegitimate use of my name and image,” Lee-Chin was quoted as saying.

“I'm concerned that there may be people who may not realize that these ads are not legitimate and that I have nothing to do with them. It is a good reminder to always be alert to potential online schemes," he added.
