Supreme Ventures Racing and Entertainment Limited (SVREL), the horse racing subsidiary of the Supreme Ventures Limited Group, recorded $508.6 million in sales for August 2017, making that month the most profitable in the history of Caymanas Park and horse racing in Jamaica.

Chief Operating Officer of SVREL, Brando Hayden made the disclosure at the launch of the 39th running of the Super Stakes on Monday at Caymanas Park, St. Catherine.

Hayden says the increase in sales demonstrates that the horse racing industry is a viable investment with the potential for growth.

“SVREL continues to keep its commitment to the overall investment into the Caymanas facility and the expansion of the horse racing industry. We’re encouraged every day by the results we see on this steady upward climb,” a release quoted him as saying.

Hayden says he is sure the trend will continue as more corporate sponsors come on board, hailing the commitment of Burger King which is sponsoring the Super Stakes for the third consecutive year.

The Super Stakes will be held on Saturday, November 11and is being sponsored to the tune of $3 million.

Burger King will also involve its sister companies Popeye’s and Little Ceasars Pizza as well as beverage partner Coca-Cola.
