Turks and Caicos appoints new DPP

Barrister, John Masters, has been appointed the new Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) of the Turks and Caicos Islands.

Governor of the British Overseas Territory, Peter Beckingham, made the announcement yesterday.

Masters will take up the position on April 27.

He replaces JoAnn Meloche who left the post last month.

A qualified Barrister, Masters has 27 years post admission qualification experience in UK, Australia and the Cayman Islands.

Speaking about his appointment, Masters said: “I am extremely proud and honoured to be entrusted with such an important role and look forward to serving the people of the Turks and Caicos Islands as their Director of Public Prosecutions.”
