Gonsalves clinches victory in St Vincent's general election
Prime Minister Dr Ralph Gonsalves and the ruling Unity Labour Party have clinched victory in yesterday's general election in St Vincent and the Grenadines.
Preliminary results show that the ruling Unity Labour Party won eight of the 15 parliamentary seats.
The main opposition New Democratic Party of former Prime Minister Arnhim Eustace, won the remaining seven seats.
This is an unprecedented fourth straight term for Prime Minister Gonsalves.
Going into the election the main concern was the spiralling unemployment, especially among St Vincent's youth.
