Barbados-born international singer, Rihanna, has called for an end to gun violence in her country after her 21-year-old cousin was shot and killed last night.

The 29-year-old singer ended a tribute to her cousin on Instagram by calling for an end to gun violence.

Barbados Police say they are investigating the fatal shooting of Tavon Kaiseen Alleyne of Lakes Close, Eden Lodge, St Michael.

He was reportedly killed as he walked through a track to his house after he was approached by a man who shot him multiple times before fleeing the scene.

Alleyne was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital by private vehicle. He succumbed to his injuries.
