TCI records first COVID-19 case
The Turks and Caicos Islands has recorded its first COVID-19 case.
This was revealed by Premier Sharlene Cartwright-Robinson.
She said the country had been preparing for the virus and that it instituted measures to mitigate risks.
Members of the public have been asked to follow health advice, in particular proper hand hygiene and social distancing.
Cartwright-Robinson says Cabinet is to meet tomorrow to deliberate on next steps.
“I am asking that we remain calm, follow health advice and help us to manage this experience in the best way we can and this can only truly be achieved if each and every one of us play our critical role.”
