Patria-Kaye Aarons | Weirwolf behaviour from Warren
Warren Weir, you owe me my 20 minutes back. I watched the entire video you shared on social media, and with every second that passed, my disappointment in you deepened.
I'm pretty sure that that wasn't your intention. In the unlikely event that no one has yet told you, I will. The police officers never 'frighten over you or your car'. They really were just doing their jobs. And in a most professional manner, might I add.
It's unfortunate when people sabotage their own brand. And you did that. Why did you have to tarnish the Warren we loved? Couldn't you have left us with the 2012 pride of Bolt-Blake-Weir 1-2-3? Sigh. And now we are vexed with you. For being arrogant, irresponsible, and for not paying your traffic tickets. Yute!
You also need to reassess the friendship with your personal camera man. Tek it from Auntie Patti. You want friends who can steer you away from clear and present danger. That bredda in the video was there to boost you up like Supligen and didn't have enough maturity or wisdom to say, "Let it go." Were he a better friend, you would have no love lost today. He would have, for your own good:
1. Deflated your ego the second it popped up; and
2) Never allowed you to upload that video to social media.
At this stage, better yu roll with Vegas. At least, he'd try to simmer you down: "Warren. Look who a talk to yu. A Vegas a talk to yu."
Here's another unsolicited, but necessary, piece of advice. Drive more carefully. I have no idea what your many traffic infringements were for, but that number of tickets is no bueno. It's an indication that you're repeatedly acting in contravention of the law.
Reduce your speed (on the road, not on the track). Obey the road code. Drive slower so more people can get a better look at your pretty car. Win-win. Heed the warning and pull back from adding to the road tragedies. Have a quiet conversation with Usain, who can give you good counsel.
On the flip side, well done, JCF. In the same way I believe the KingAlarm tapes should be training material for new recruits, I believe this video should be also. You were professional in your dealings with an unnecessarily difficult person. Maximum respect for how thorough you were with the stop and search, how professional you were with your exchange, and how you kept a cool head, even when faced with snide remarks.
I even appreciated the fatherly expression of disappointment from the officer conducting the search.
Back to you, Warren. The police officer called you a national embarrassment, and the only reason it got there is because you were arrogant in your dealings with him and his fellow officers. You escalated that title to international embarrassment by sharing the video with all of social media. And that you can't undo. Hush!
Lucky for you, your nine days are halfway through. Do better next time!
