Vybz Kartel tried his hand at it before, but, unfortunately, the show only lasted one season before the entertainer was taken into police custody on murder charges. Now, dancehall group T.O.K are the latest entertainers to take on the title of reality TV stars, with their new series, Taking Over.

Aired for the first time on local TV on Sunday, the series gives an intimate look at the lives of members of the group, things fans wouldn't normally see on the surface. Work, sex, relationships, and friendships are just a few of the themes explored in the debut season. And if the first episode is anything to go by, then the rest of the season will be something to look forward to.

Produced by Carlington Silburn, the show not only explores the lives of Flexx, Alex, Craigy T, and Bay-C as entertainers, but shows them as ordinary people who face the same issues regular people face daily. The first episode shows Alex's struggle to keep the flame alive in his long-distance relationship, Bay-C has to decide to put his studies on pause to carry out well-needed business initiatives, Flexx talks about the groups need to focus, while Craigy-T faces relationship vs work issues. Fans also get a first-hand view on why the group has survived as long as it has, as the strength of their friendship is also explored on the show.

Viewers will also learn new things about the entertainers, as members of their families are introduced to the world. Flexx's sister, Stacia, is a budding fashion designer and will be featured from time to time on the show; Bay-C talks about the pressures of living up to the expectations of his parents; Alex reveals that as the only surviving sibling for his mother, his relationship with her is one he cherishes; while Craigy T introduces his special lady to the Jamaican audience.

A premiere launch was held at the Usain Bolt Tracks and Records inside marketplace last Sunday, where the entertainers watched the first episode of their groundbreaking series in the company of family and friends. The series airs on CVM TV every Sunday at 9 p.m.
