Teenager Justine Skye, a Brooklyn resident with Jamaican roots, will be the featured live performer at the finals of this year's Pulse Search For The Million Dollar Girl. It will be held on August 31.

The competition has attracted a large number of contestants as new faces seek to follow in the footsteps of stars the competition has produced over the years, as well as the emerging cadre of international talent.

With her model looks and strong personality, Skye is a creature of the Internet age, born on talent and bred in the social media space.

Fate placed Skye in the audience at a BMI industry panel filled with music executives on a crisp fall day one October. During the standard question-and-answer section, she surprised everyone. Taking a leap of faith, Skye grab the microphone and asked "Can I sing for you?" It was the start of an exciting and promising career.

Born and raised in New York City, Justine Skye's individuality sets her apart from her peers. Her soulful, melodic vocals are coupled with trendsetting fashion sense and undeniable natural beauty.

MUSICAL JOURNEY

She quickly made a name for herself, covering Drake's Headlines and racked up nearly two million YouTube views without major advertising. Filled with confidence, Justine continued to garner the respect of her music colleagues with the release of her seven-track EP, which led to a deal with Atlantic Records.

Collaborating with some of the hottest producers in the music industry, DJ Mustard and Tyga, Skye's songs speak about the transition from adolescence to adulthood. Her music fuses traditional '90s soul with hip hop, alternative and dub step elements for a refreshing and unique sound.

Pulse launched The Search for the Million Dollar Girl at the start of 2014. One lucky girl with the perfect face, body and spirit will be selected Pulse's Million Dollar Girl at the end of summer 2014. She will be awarded $1 million in cash and prizes, with no less than $500,000 in cash.

Since 1980, The Pulse Search has produced fashion legends such as Kimberley Mais, Angela Neil, Carla Campbell, Romae Gordon, Althea Laing, Lincoln Wynter and Lois Samuels. More recently, there have been supermodels Jeneil Williams, Oraine Barrett, Jaunel McKenzie, Nell Robinson and Nadine Willis.
