In true Jamaican family fashion, parents took the children out to enjoy the Tastee/Tropicana Family Fiesta at Turtle River Park, Ocho Rios, St Ann, last Saturday.

With a purchase of a $260 meal at Tastee, patrons were given a ticket giving free entrance to one adult and two children, with the youngsters getting two free rides each. And the rides were plenty.

Thrown into the mix were the comedy duo Ity and Fancy Cat to add some humour, while TOK provided song, as did Tastee Talent finalist from St Ann, Fire Bubbles. Along with all this were many giveaways, making for an excellent family occasion.

One of the many families at Turtle River Park travelled from Bamboo. "Yes, I came all the way from Bamboo for this," said Kenese Francis, as she and her eight-month-old son watched the activities. Her sisters and in-laws were part of the group there.

"It's holidays and the kids need to go out and have fun, so I thought it would be a good place for them to come," she added.

Pleased with turnout

Brand manager, Carbonated Beverage, at Pepsi Jamaica, Cornelia Nathan, was pleased with the turnout and the day's activities. "This is really a fun day for everyone to come out and enjoy," Nathan said. "We have our Tropicana chill station, our Tropicana kiddies village, we also have educational board games, spin the wheel to win prizes, bounceabout, different rides for the kids and, of course, live entertainment."

The event was the second in a three-part series, which began at Hope Gardens, St Andrew, in May and will culminate this December in Montego Bay, St James.
