Maybelline New York does fun makeover for J'can beauty, charity
Maybe they were born with it, or maybe it's Maybelline. Three young women from the Mustard Seed Communities apostolate, Mary's Child, rocked the Fontana Pharmacy Barbican runway alongside the Miss Universe Jamaica (MUJ) 2014 contestants at Maybelline New York's Beauty & Charity Event earlier this month.
The three were dolled up by Maybelline New York make-up artists, and their dreams became a reality when they spent a few motivational hours with the lovely contestants and Maybelline New York representatives. This fun makeover and mentorship was part of Maybelline New York's Beauty and Charity Event, in partnership with Fontana Pharmacy, Barbican, recently.
Maybelline New York is a proud sponsor of Miss Universe Jamaica 2014 and selected Mary's Child as its local charity. A percentage of all sales from the day was donated to Mary's Child, is the Mustard Seed Communities apostolate that provides housing and support for teen mothers and their babies.
It is one of the only residential facilities of its kind in Jamaica. Maybelline New York also plans to work with Mary's Child to mentor some of these teens, especially in the field of cosmetology, which may be a possible career option for them.
"We are so grateful that Maybelline New York was able to provide the girls with an insight into a career in cosmetology, and they are very grateful for the exposure and being motivated by other young women, as well as by Maybelline representatives. The girls are very excited. Not a lot of attention is given to this particular group, so we are happy for the assistance," said Mary's Child administrator, Nadia Williams.
The amazingly stunning Miss Universe Jamaica 2014 contestants were also available for unique photo opportunities with patrons.
