Brad Pitt will not play Bob Marley

It may come as a disappointment to some and a relief to others, but rumours that American actor Brad Pitt is slated to play the role of legendary reggae singer Bob Marley in a new film are just that - rumours.
Since photos of the American heart-throb wearing dreadlocks resurfaced over the weekend, many have been speculating whether the actor was perhaps gearing up for a new role. However, online reports reveal that the photos were taken over two years ago and are not a part of any promotional efforts for any new projects.
The photos that have been making the rounds on Facebook over the last couple of days have since generated hundreds of comments, many of which draw on the obvious racist card. Most users who bought into the rumours showed their disapproval of Pitt playing Marley, saying he was 'too white' to get the part.
Several online sources revealed that the photos of Pitt wearing locks were taken back in 2012 when the actor underwent makeovers to pose as a number of persons including Marley and James Dean for a tribute photo shoot for Interview Magazine.
