With 14 successful consecutive stagings under its belt, the GT Taylor Christmas Reggae Extravaganza has grown to become one of the most anticipated events on the local entertainment calendar.

Promoter for the event George 'GT' Taylor said he was confident that this year's staging would be a huge success.

"I'm sure that the show will be a great success this year. Despite the struggles over the years, we've been able to create a brand that works. The people know they can always rely on Christmas Reggae Extravaganza for a great show every year, and we have never let them down. So far, we have delivered 14 successful stagings and number 15 will be just as awesome, or even greater, than the ones before," said the promoter.

This year's show will be headlined by dancehall legends Bounty Killer, Beenie Man, Ninja Man, and Sizzla, along with dancehall heavyweights Busy Signal and Mr Vegas.

"We've put together a wonderful line-up of artistes for this year's show. The show will be headlined by some of the biggest dancehall acts on the planet. It will also feature a number of veteran reggae and dancehall acts, along with some of the new acts who are making an impact on the music scene right now. Not to be left out are the upcoming acts, who will be the stars of tomorrow. As is customary, we will be highlighting some of these acts, too," said Taylor.

The line-up for GT Taylor's Christmas Reggae Extravaganza is rounded out by veterans acts like Cocoa Tea, Peter Metro, Professor Nuts, and George Nooks, along with Khago, Bushman, RDX, Hezron, Ikaya, Hero, Teflon, Villa Dutch, Venjahnce, Ryme Minista, Masicka, Konfydence, Tiana, Mr Absolute, Richie Innocent, Tommy B, Jah Glory, and Eclipse Twins.

The show will also feature a special tribute segment in memory of the late iconic reggae singer John Holt.

"John Holt is an artiste who I've long admired. I have a great deal of respect for his talent. He was a very wonderful singer who will be greatly missed by music lovers all over the world. On hearing of his death, I decided that this year's show will be dedicated to him. Therefore, the theme of the show this year is tribute to Sir John Holt. I plan to personally play all of his hits in a special segment of the show. I'm also asking all the acts who are going to be on the show to salute John Holt because he's truly a great icon of Jamaican music," said Taylor.

The promoter also said that he was very happy that Guinness and Wisynco were back on board as the major sponsors for the show this year because "without major sponsorship, it would be almost impossible to stage an event of this magnitude. Therefore, I am extremely pleased that Guinness and Wisynco are on board with us again this year. I cannot thank them enough for their tremendous support."
