Different Strokes moves into high gear
Party promoter Sean Greenfield is lauded as one of the most creative and innovative promoters in western Jamaica.
Under his Seashli brand, he has introduced several successful party events to the Negril entertainment calendar, including Soakin Wett, Girl's Time, Mas Vida and the ultra popular Different Strokes retro party series.
Different Strokes was launched in March 2009 as an annual event. Since then, it has grown into one of the most popular retro party series in Jamaica, attracting patrons from home and abroad.
However, due to the popularity of the event, the promoter was forced to stage the event twice per year.
"Since we launched Different Strokes, it has been growing rapidly. It's now held in March and November. The fans love this event because of the high level of entertainment that it offers," said Greenfield.
In keeping with the growth of the event each year, the promoter has implemented new ideas to keep patrons hooked to his event.
The next staging of Different Strokes will take place on November 22 at Chances in Negril.
Patrons attending the event will get something extra as, for the very first time, there will be a special live performance segment at the party, as '80s dancehall kingpin General Trees has been contracted to perform at the event.
"We are always looking to give our patrons more entertainment for their money. We want them to be fully satisfied when they leave our party. Therefore, I've decided to introduce a live performance segment in the party. General Trees will be the first artiste to be featured at Different Strokes and I'm sure the patrons are going to have a blast, because he is a great performer," said the promoter.
Also on the lineup for Different Strokes are DJ Marvin from FAME FM, Donovan Dacres from RJR 94 FM and DJ Krayzi from Negril. Charley's JB Rum are main sponsors for the event.
