She gave her final perfor-mance on 'The Voice' stage on Tuesday night as the curtains came down on her time in the international singing competition. Performing in the wild card rounds for the chance to be in the final four, Jamaican-born singer Anita Antoinette, performed a powerful rendition of John Mayer's hit single, Waiting on the world to Change, and although one of the judges thought it was her best performance to date, it was not enough to guarantee the singer a spot in next week's finals.

Hitting back at persons who claim she made some poor song choices which resulted in her 'early elimination', the singer said she used every opportunity each week to develop as an artiste. "Song choices were not entirely our (the contestant's) decision to make, however, part of the challenge was to use our gifts and make the songs relevant, and inject pieces of ourselves within them. I used each opportunity to develop." She also expressed that she felt good about her chances going into the wild card rounds and further explained that although she didn't win the final spot, she accomplished what she set out to do. "I felt great. My message and what I stand for is what I wanted to highlight, and that is exactly what I did, so I feel incredible." Commenting on her performance for the final time, her coach, Gwen Stefani, lauded Antoinette for choosing to send a great message through her song, dubbing her a 'beautiful person inside'.

Admitting that she was

nervous prior to touching the stage for the final time, the singer told The Gleaner, that if she had the chance to do it all over, she would change nothing. I would be a fool to regret anything," she expressed. "God knows what he is doing. My part is to love, inspire, and live. The past are lessons to be had. I've learned and grown a bit wiser from all my choices."

Now that her journey on 'The Voice' has officially ended, Antoinette says she is focused on establishing her professional career and revealed that she has already been approached by several artistes, both locally and internationally, who have expressed an interest in working with her. "I have been contacted to work with a few prominent artistes and producers, but it's a surprise, so keep your eyes and your ears open," she said. "The journey has just begun. Team Anita has a lot in store."
