Patrons ring in 2015 at Club Privilege.

Hundreds welcome 2015 at Club Privilege

Among the many happenings on New Year's Eve was the event Genesis, held at New Kingston's hot spot Club Privilege. For the past five years, the club has been the designated place for many to party and have a grand time. Patrons were given complimentary shots on entry to kick-start the vibe, happy New Year hats for the gents, and tiaras for the princesses, confetti sticks, and noise makers.

Close to midnight, Club Privilege's resident disc jock DJ Cyrus started the countdown, glasses were raised, and confetti disbursed into the air. The countdown began, and at midnight, everyone screamed "Happy New Year!" Confetti fluttered, covering patrons with an array of colours as noise makers were sounded and a toast was made to the New Year.

Chezidek cries out for world peace

Roots reggae singer Chezidek has unleashed a powerful healing message to the world through his brand-new anti-war single No More War. The new single comes on the heels of his successful mid-November European tour, which saw the artiste performing in Germany, Spain, France, Slovakia, and Belgium among other countries.

No More War is the first single from the Henry 'Sadiki' Buckley Jr-produced various artistes compilation Sea of Love Riddim Vol. 2 (Skinny Bwoy Records), which is due out on February 10.

Chezidek delivers this potent and timely message in his upper vocal register and offers a clearly different sound than his fans are accustomed to hearing. Promotional copies of the single are already creating waves on reggae/Caribbean music programmes worldwide. The single can be pre-ordered at iTunes, Amazon, and all leading digital stores and will be officially released on January 13, 2015.
