With a positive lifestyle being the dominant theme on his upcoming EP, gospel artiste Chozenn says his latest work will show his growth and rebirth.

"I am just being obedient and doing what I am called to do right now," Chozenn told The Gleaner.

The EP will feature seven tracks and is called Rebirth.

"I am on a mission for Jesus and my music ministry needs to be heard. For this EP, we worked with GI Production, Everlasting Production, Rural Area Production, Vrai Brilliance and RB Records," he said.

Chozenn says the EP's lead single, God Love Yuh Enuh which was released late 2014, has been well-received both locally and abroad. According to the artiste, "It has been awesome working on this, my first gospel project. The songs flowed naturally and you can actually feel the level of anointing on each song," he said, noting that God Love Yuh Enuh, has received airplay in Finland, Dominica, Cayman Islands and other parts of the Caribbean.

blessed and happy

While the iTtunes release date for the EP remains uncertain, Chozenn says there will be an official Rebirth launch on January 31 at the Maverly

Gospel Hall, 1001/4 Molynes Road. The artiste will also deliver a live performance on location, backed by On The Shout gospel band. Other notable gospel artistes will also share their

talents in the celebration.

"The love is amazing, and I am basically on every playlist locally. I am blessed and I am more than happy. I am beyond pleased with airplay," Chozenn said.

Persons attending the launch will be able to purchase the EP at a special cost of only $500.

In terms of the style of gospel, Chozenn says the EP will show his versatility, as he wants to appeal to different emotions.

"It's just beautiful music, and we have that nice praise and worship vibe ... we have that nice feel-good music where you just want to move and be happy," he said, adding that he hopes the content will change lives.

The artiste is currently featured on a musical project funded by the Ministry of Tourism. He was also featured at Arts in The Park: The Gospel Edition, hosted in Ocho Rios and organised by the Ministry of Tourism.

The EP's launch will be powered by Digicel, Wisynco Group of companies and gospel radio station, Love 101.

"My type of music is to encourage young people and restore lost faith. Just expect good music and giving God the glory, because the word of God will be clearly evident in all of my material," he told The Gleaner.

A music video has already been released for the lead single, God Love Yuh Enuh, and was directed by Juvelle Harper, Beyond Production and CMG LTD. Gospel singer Jodian Pantry is also featured on the EP with an effort called Move. The artiste also revealed that he was looking to ink a distribution deal with a Jamaica-based company for the project.
