Keesing Live starts season with show, party
Tomorrow night, the 2015 Keesing LIVE! series starts with a concert and dance party at 5 Keesing Avenue, Kingston 19.
The line-up comprises Vanessa Lee, Bryan Art, Gem Myers and Ken Boothe, with the Fabulous Five Incorporated Band, which will handle support duties, as well as the dance-party segment of the night.
The event will be held at Alternative Music Ltd's headquarters - the home of Keesing LIVE! - and it is planned that their neighbours, EVE for Life, will benefit from the concert.
Charmaine Limonius told The Gleaner that representatives from the organisation will be there to provide the public with information about its activities. Previously, she said, Alternative Music - which includes providing sound among its suite of services - has assisted EVE for Life.
"What they do is so important," Limonius said. "So far, we have not been able to give cash." However, the hope is that will change this time around.
While there is parking outside the venue, the area will be monitored by security personnel; Limonius said it fills up quickly. There will be parking at Tyre Warehouse on Hagley Park Road, with complimentary shuttle service to and from the venue throughout the night.
CLEAN, LIVE MUSIC
In a release, the organisers said Keesing LIVE! was created with a view to presenting and preserving good, clean live music by both renowned artistes and new talent in beautiful, safe and relaxed surroundings.
The gates will be opened at 6.30 p.m., and showtime is at 8.00 p.m. sharp. As standard, a variety of drinks and food will be on sale throughout the evening, as well as CDs, artwork and memorabilia.
Presold tickets are $1,200 each, and the price at the gate is $1,500. Limonius said a presold ticket delivery service is provided, but persons may also call and reserve tickets to be left for collection at the gate, still at the presold price.
Cherine Anderson is also one of the performers for the April 2015 staging of Keesing LIVE!
