Pepsi treats YVA nominees

Pepsi Cola, the official beverage sponsor of the 2015 Youth View Awards (YVAs), treated the nominees to an exclusive party hosted at Fiction Fantasy Night Club on Thursday, February 19. The event boasted all the bells and whistles and many of the nominees turned out to party and unwind.

There are approximately 70 nominees this year, stretching over 24 categories. They will be vying for titles such as Favourite Local Artiste of the Year for both male and female, Favourite Fashion Icon for both male and female, Celebrity Role Model, Young, Hot and Hype Female of the Year, and the list goes on.

Speaking ahead of the exciting award ceremony, nominee for Favourite Local Artiste of the Year - Female, Denyque, said it feels amazing to be recognised. Denyque is nominated in three categories, Favourite Local Artiste of the Year - Female; Fashion Icon - Female; and Young, Hot and Hype Female of the Year.

"I expect the YVA's to be better than previous years, as each year, it significantly grows in strength. It is a fantastic event, and this year's show is anticipated to go very well," Denyque said.

Tarrus Riley, who is nominated in the category, Favourite Cultural Artiste of the Year, had this to say: "It feels great to be nominated, because I put in a lot of hard work, and just like the moniker, 'YVA', I am glad the youth are viewing what we do."

Pepsi Brand Ambassador Konshens, who was also nominated in five categories including Favourite Dancehall Artiste, Fashion Icon - Male, Celebrity Role Model, among others, also had a great deal to say about the YVAs.

"It always feels good to be nominated for these Youth View Awards; it's good to know that I am relevant in the eyes of young people. I think it will be yet another great production and the kids will have fun! That's really what's most important," said Konshens

According to Mitchell Watson, marketing manager at Pepsi Cola Jamaica, "Pepsi has been on-board for over six years, and we have seen the tremendous growth it has made over the years, and as the leading beverage manufacturer, we are proud to be a part of this. The Pepsi YVAs Nominee Party is a way to show our appreciation to the nominees. Each year, we host an exclusive event just for the nominees; they are treated."

The 2015 YVAs is scheduled to be held at the National Indoor Sports Centre tonight starting at 8 p.m., with a pre-show at 5:30 p.m. Admissions: presold VIP $4,000; presold general $1,800 and presold after party $1,200.
