Empire's V Bozeman rocked Friday's opening night of fashion shows at Caribbean Fashion Week (CFW).

The night had been going well after 11 designers showcased their creations, ranging from fabulous ready-to-wear items to luxurious accessories. Then it was time for the guest performance before the last of the three shows began.

V Bozeman graced the runway, and Empire fans erupted with screams and applause - a warm reception for her first Jamaican performance. She performed three songs, including Crazy by Cee Lo Green, who is also her mentor. She then called the main man of CFW, Kingsley Cooper, to the stage to give him a warm thank you, and then sang her hit What is love? Her voice filled the National Indoor Sports Centre, as well as, apparently, the hearts of fans.

16 designers

In total, there were 16 designers on the first night of the fashion shows. These included seven designers from Tobago; Jamie Spence, under her designer name, James Black; and Rehma B Chains from UK, whose accessories would fit in perfectly with Jamaicans. Many of her chains had Jamaican slang and, in addition to white, the predominantly red, green and yellow colours she utilised were resonant of Rastafarian culture.

The show ended with a high fashion design from Martinique by designer Krystel Markos.

Like every other night during the CFW weekend, there was an after party at Pulse8 for those who wished to dance up a storm.
