Gully Bop promises new songs for Sumfest
Ahead of Reggae Sumfest 2015 in Montego Bay, St James, next week, The Gleaner will give its readers a closer look at some of the performers. Today, it is dancehall artiste Gully Bop.
His discovery came just a year ago, but for the past few months, dancehall artiste Gully Bop has been creating waves in the industry and on the music scene. He has been on several shows and is billed to perform on the Greatest Reggae Show on Earth, at Dancehall Explosion on Thursday, July 16.
Gully Bop is excited and explains that he has new songs that he will be sharing with his fans and patrons. He is promising a memorable performance; one that everyone will love, enjoy and remember for years.
"One thousand new things me have fe go drop, Miss Hottie Hottie, wid me and Dutch; the big bad summer song, Rave, wid me and Boosh Kash. And me have new tune wid me and Chin, a sample offa Shabba name Twice My Age, weh a rip up Europe, and it a come rip up Sumfest worst!" Gully Bop said.
"Me a come nice up the place. Montego Bay not going forget this ya one ya; real blockbuster. A different side dem ago see, upgraded side. The hit song dem weh dem know and the new freestyle dem a go turn Catherine Hall upside down," he added.
In attendance at the recent Kingston launch of Reggae Sumfest 2015 at Ribbiz Ultra Lounge, Gully Bop shared: "It look good, me a tell yuh. People in the streets a talk bout it (Reggae Sumfest), and fans tell me pan Facebook say dem a come a Sumfest come see Gully Bop perform pon di real big stage, so it up to the time."
Robert Russell, chairman, Summerfest Productions, said that they are happy to have Gully Bop on the show, stating that "he will add some amount of excitement to the event".
After his Sumfest performance, Gully Bop heads to Amazura, New York, the first stop on his US tour, which ends in October. His EP, Rags to Riches, will be released later in the summer, and he has some new videos at YouTube.com/gullybopVEVO.
