Zhavea brings pop-dancehal to Star Time
International recording artist Zhavea is busy in Los Angeles, California, with daily rehearsals as she gets ready to deliver at Reggae Sumfest 2015 on Saturday, July 18. The night, dubbed 'Star Time', will be the artiste's first performance at the festival, and Zhavea is hoping to make a mark with her fusion of pop and dancehall.
"I am very excited to be heading back out to Jamaica to perform. It's really a blessing, and I appreciate this great opportunity to be performing on the Sumfest stage. My fans can expect a high-energy and fun performance from me," Zhavea said.
Zhavea is currently topping the Caribbean charts with her single Gimme That Love, featuring Beenie Man, and is looking forward to what will be her second major performance in Jamaica.
Born to Grenadian-American parents, she grew up with a passion for singing and dancing professionally. Her heritage has made Zhavea closely connected with her musical roots, and the result is her unique blend of sounds and movements. Her high sense of fashion also enhances the entire package offered by this emerging talent.
Robert Russell, chairman of Summerfest Productions, is happy to have Zhavea on the line-up. "Zhavea is a very talented artiste. We like to feature all types of reggae pop and dancehall acts. She falls into all three categories, so we are expecting a great performance and one that will engage the crowd at Reggae Sumfest," Russell said.
Reggae Sumfest kicks off tomorrow with a beach party at Aquasol, then there is the All White affair at Pier One on Tuesday, July 14. The main stage event runs Thursday, July 16, to Saturday, July 18.
