AMP-FEST promises exciting treat

AMP-FEST (Arts, Music and Poetry Festival) is a two-day cultural creative arts festival steadfast in the growth, development, and celebration of authentic Jamaican arts, music and poetry.

The purpose of AMP-FEST is to amplify authentic Jamaican art and flair. AMP-FEST gives voice to unheard talent and is a platform for genuine Jamaican art and small businesses while growing in scale annually.

The festival is organised by Denile Campbell of Electro-Rock Events in collaboration with Nanook Enterprises. The event will feature Capoeira, Kundalin Yoga, Kemetic Yoga, African dancing and drumming workshops, as well as various food, clothing, and crafts booth vendors such as Veggie Meals on Wheel, I-nation Books, Vintage Chic Jewelry and Accessories, I AM Smoothies, and Life Child Crafts.

Patrons will also be entertained with performances by a variety of poets, musicians, and bands, among them Yashika Graham, Melville Cooke, Oku Onuora, Abbebe Payne, Dre and KJ, Jemynie, Dexta Malawi, SKAIBRID, African dancing presentation by Laura Maydana, Capoeira display by Capoeira Jamaica and more. There will also be a special musical performance by Naja Ra and Jamaiel Shabaka, roots and culture artistes from LA.

Gates open at 12 p.m.; show time 8 p.m.
