Saint Model Tami Williams is new face of Calvin Klein Fall Collection

Calvin Klein, the global fashion behemoth, has selected Saint International (Jamaican) model Tami Williams as a face of the brand's uber-prestigious Calvin Klein Fall Collection 2015 campaign. This is a first for any Jamaican or Caribbean model and now catapults the Jamaican teen into the realm of 'supermodeldom'.

To get a sense of the magnitude of this news is to reflect on the brand's advertising campaigns over the years. Preliminary checks have revealed that no black model has done the 'Collection' campaign since the legendary supermodel Iman in the early '80s. The legacy of CK's prestige has made supermodels of names like Christy Turlington, Kate Moss, Natalia Vodionova, and more recently Lara Stone. The ubiquitous Calvin Klein brand's global dominance lies in its commercial success and cross-generational appeal.

Now, 17-year-old Tami Williams shares the CK Collection spotlight with Grace Hertzel and Maartje Verhoef as a brand ambassador.


The present campaign was shot in New York City and is a moving cinematic masterpiece curated by visual artist Charels Atlas, whose works have been exhibited in London, New York and Paris. He is a pioneer in the genre of media-dance, which blends movement from original dance and video specifically for the camera. In the video, Tami is seen dancing elegantly to a '80s rock vibe in the latest look for Calvin Klein Collection.

"This is every model and agent's ultimate dream. There has never been any Jamaican [or Caribbean model] whose ascendancy to true supermodeldom has been so profound and at such lightning speed," boasts Saint boss Deiwght Peters, who is the architect for Williams' pristine global career. Williams is also officially considered an 'American Vogue-girl' with four high-profile editorials within the last eight months. Her runway rÈsumÈ since her debut in February 2014 (in a groundbreaking semi-exclusive for Alexander Wang) is equally impressive.

"For a brand such as the legendary Calvin Klein to select Tami for its top brand category not only telegraphs to the world that she is among the world's top models, but also defines this moment for her to be a supermodel for the ages," Peters points out.

Williams, simultaneously, is fronting global campaigns for Top Shop and Dolce and Gabanna, and "This is unprecedented by any standard," Peters quips.

There are many lines of Calvin Klein but the Collection is the most prestigious line. Calvin Klein defines this line as 'our most prestigious and luxurious brand setting the tone for elegance and modern sophistication.'

Williams is managed by Saint International, with international partners such as Elite Models (New York), Storm Models (London), WHY NOT (Milan), (Elite) Paris and Uno Barcelona.
