Kurt Riley 'Destined' to host Abby Dallas' mixtape
DJ Kurt Riley has hosted reggae artiste Abby Dallas' mixtape titled Destined.
Destined - the mixtape is a musical blend of lovers rock, reggae, soca, pop and dancehall songs, which showcases Abby's vocal range and natural comfort in each genre.
The mixtape features 13 tracks led by original material such as He's Just Not Into You, Nuh House Mouse and Extraordinary. However, the singer also included a few cover efforts like her remake of Ice Cream Love featuring deejay Shaka Pow, Rihanna's BBHM and Miley Cyrus' Adore You.
Abby Dallas was recently featured on the cover of SYM Magazine and is also a past Jamaica Cultural Development Commission festival song winner.
According to DJ Kurt Riley, the singer has great potential and her content sets her apart from the rest.
"Abby Dallas is an artiste who has great potential in this business. I'm in love with her vocals. It's sad to say some female artistes can only sing about what God give dem to hold a man or tek a man from another female. They can't make other women and people look up to them and into themselves as a person. Abby Dallas is clever enough to do so with her songs that cover a wide array of topics. She has my support," Riley said.
Dallas, who has also worked with iconic singer Diana King, told The Gleaner that her fan base has been growing and she is grateful for the support of the highly respected disc jock/producer.
"I am humbled by the contribution that Romain Virgo, Bugle, Diana King, Ikaya, and Loyal Flames made to the mixtape. Though the contributions of some of them may not be obvious to listeners, I am nonetheless grateful for their readiness to endorse me as a fellow artiste. Also, as I travel across Jamaica and interact with fans on social media, I am touched by the outpouring of support from my growing fan base. Destined - the mixtape is a free gift from One Jam Music and me to fans, in appreciation of their support of Abby Dallas," she said.
Dallas recently performed on Irie FM's acoustic show and is booked for Stone Love night during RJR's Kingston Music Week, which will be held during the first week of December. She is also expected to perform at Sting 2015.
"For Sting to consider me as a performer for one of the greatest reggae/dancehall shows on earth, I'm overwhelmed with emotions, and knowing the great demand and expectations of me, I will bring my A game," Dallas promised.
She also released an EP titled Destined in September of this year.
