Manchester High wins TVJ's All Together Sing
It was double the joy for the parish of Manchester recently when Manchester High and Porus High copped first and third place, respectively, at the 11th staging of the popular singing competition All Together Sing. Iona High School from St Ann placed second.
When the announcement was made, all the judges from the competition agreed with the decision, saying that although the other choirs had brought their 'A Game' and put on a great battle for the title, Manchester High deserved the win because they were the most consistent choir throughout the entire competition.
Dennis Rushton described the choir as a cut above the rest and deserving of the title, as their ability to perform allowed them to stand out among some great choirs.
"All the finalists this year were really great, but Manchester High is a cut above the rest," he said. "They know how to bring that performance value and have been consistent throughout the entire competition."
Fellow judge Joy Simons Brown agreed.
"You're winners. Thank you for bringing quality performances to this show."
Along with the title of the 2015 All Together Sing Champions, Manchester High walked away with over $2 million in cash and prizes and the championship trophy presented by TVJ's general manager, Claire Grant.
In addition to the pieces presented by the finalists, the hour long season finale also saw performances from all-male group Natty Bald Head and The Emeralds.
