Top Reggae acts fall from Billboard top ten
The Billboard reggae chart saw quite a few changes this week, with several of reggae's top acts falling out of contention in the Top 10.
Assassin and Sizzla Kalonji, who both released albums over the last month, have already fallen from the Top 10, along with Morgan Heritage, who recently returned after winning a Grammy for Best Reggae Album.
The fall of Sizzla, Assassin, and Morgan Heritage, seemed inevitable, based on their poor performance on the chart over the past two weeks. However, most shocking this week is the failure of Jah Cure's album, The Cure, to regain its place in the Top 10.
The album, which climbed to number one last week, after Jah Cure regained control of his social media pages, is arguably the most popular reggae album of 2015.
For several weeks, the project battled with Joss Stone's Water For Your Soul album, for top honours on reggae's Billboard chart. However, this week, Joss Stone, perhaps had the last laugh as she still remains in the Top 10 at number six, falling two places.
The current number one reggae album on the Billboard Chart is Good Vibes by American artiste Josh Heinrichs. Bob Marley and the Wailers returned to the Top 10 this week, moving up from the number 13 spot last week.
